    A bit of both actually. Automated systems that generate and maintain this kind of thing in addition to dev and player driven content.

  • I've always hoped a game environment in an MMO would be reactive to the activity in the area. Sort of like Minecraft or 7 Days to Die where, if you stay in one area long enough, more creatures will spawn, or, if you clear an area of enemies, it makes that area a safe zone for a while until the bigger/badder NPCs find out there is an opening and decide to move in. Really looking forward to playtesting this out...

  • Indeed. This kind of fluid design gives a greater sense of immersion and player interaction with the game world. Rather than just place some mob spawners and let players have at them, we want to create something that reacts to player input.
